- To update the results of doctoral theses and using as motivation the brilliant approach of Jane Jacobs that she recommends before changing a city or intervening n it, knowing it, deciphering, its dynamics, discovering its vitality, this reflection article is written in which some problematizing questions-very far from being all he possible ones- are presented, about realities considered social determinants for planning, due to their complexity. Specifically, the criminal dynamics of drug trafficking, the venereal territories, and the besieged, and a brief mention of the wasted lives. Likewise, it is located in the concrete reality of Bogota and uses, as a source of information, the visit made to ten localities n order to update data for the new Master Plan. This included workshops, interviews and work with the community. The results, as problematization, turn out to be a provocation to remember a perspective that forces us to rethink ourselves.
